Couple.me Review
A clean content policy, a real London company, and a legal shelf copied from a brand that no longer exists.
Facts checked: September 26, 2026
// Quick facts
- Rating
- 6.4/10
- Free version
- Yes
- Pricing
- Not published anywhere on the site. Third parties agree on $12.99/mo, $9.99/mo quarterly, $4.13/mo annually, all with 100 tokens a month
// What we liked
- +No upload path exists, and the platform says so itself in writing rather than leaving you to guess
- +Celebrity impersonation, minor-resembling content and realistic depictions of real individuals are each prohibited in named policies
- +The operator is a real registered company you can look up, with a number that checks out
- +The character builder is unusually deep: 42 occupations, 42 outfits, 12 relationship dynamics
// What we didn't
- −Its terms of service still name a different brand, Virtualamour.ai, which is now a dead domain
- −Its community guidelines prohibit pornography and explicit sexual activity, on a site that sells both
- −Not one price appears anywhere on the site, and the refund becomes void after 20 of your 100 monthly tokens
// Our verdict
The content policy is genuinely clean and enforced by architecture, but the paperwork around it was copied from somewhere else and never read.
Couple.me's terms of service contain a section headed User Safety. It begins: "At Virtualamour.ai, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our users."
Virtualamour.ai is not this product. It is a domain that now returns a 404. Somebody built Couple.me's legal shelf out of a previous brand's documents and did not finish reading them, and once you notice that, you notice it everywhere.
What is Couple.me?
Couple.me is a browser-based AI companion platform. You pick a character or build one, chat with her or him without a message cap on any paid plan, and spend a monthly token allowance on generated images and voice notes. There is also an AI Video Chat section and a dedicated NSFW image generator page.
The operator is named openly and checks out. Fab AI LTD, company number 15816848, incorporated on 3 July 2024, registered at Flat 1, 37 Panton Street, London SW1Y 4EA, under SIC code 62090. That is more disclosure than most of this category manages. The one blemish on the record is administrative: the confirmation statement was due on 16 July 2026 and is still outstanding.
Policy check, and Couple.me passes it properly. Across 38 application bundles totalling 1.4 MB and fifteen rendered pages, there is no image-to-image, no initial or reference image, no identity adapter, no face swap, no nudify, no inpainting, no file input and no image accept attribute. The three hits worth chasing were all noise: the single undress match is the phrase "Long Sundress" in a prompt placeholder, multipart/form-data is axios library internals, and FileReader sits inside the fetch polyfill.
What lifts this above a clean scan is that the platform states the same thing itself. Its Blocked Content Policy opens by explaining that "users cannot upload any content on our Couple.me platform (the APP), but can only chat and initiate the creation of AI-generated content". A no-uploads architecture described accurately in the platform's own words is rarer than it should be.
The real-people position is spread across three documents and it is coherent in all three. The Blocked Content Policy prohibits "deceptive or harmful impersonation of real individuals, public figures, or celebrities" and, separately, any attempt "to generate AI content resembling minors". The Community Guidelines go further than most: "Do not post real images or overly realistic AI-generated images of any individuals. This prohibition includes images that might be indistinguishable from real photos, to protect individual privacy and prevent the misuse of someone's likeness without consent." The Content Removal Policy then adds a process, including identity verification for anyone claiming a resemblance.
That is the case for Couple.me, and it is a real one. Now the problem.
The features that actually matter
A character builder with genuine depth. The configuration data the site loads publicly lists 7 ethnicities, 9 hair styles, 5 body types, 5 breast and 5 butt sizes, 12 personalities from Caregiver to Nympho, 42 occupations, 20 hobbies, 12 relationship dynamics and 42 outfits, in Realistic or Anime. Most rivals ship a third of that.
Memory as the paid differentiator. The premium screen sells advanced memory, and reviewers who tested it describe short-term context and long-term facts working as advertised, with the companion following up days later on something you mentioned once. If you are paying for anything here, you are paying for that.
An AI Video Chat that never claims to be video. Read the page closely. It promises to "talk face-to-face", then describes "an interactive video-style experience", "interactive video-style responses" and "visual reactions". The word style is doing a lot of work, and nothing on the page claims generated video. We could not see what it actually renders without an account, so we will not tell you it is fake. We will tell you the copy hedges.
A banned-words endpoint with nothing in it. The front end calls a public endpoint for its moderation wordlist. It answers with HTTP 200 and an empty array. Filtering may well happen server-side somewhere we cannot see, so this is not proof that nothing is blocked. It is the only part of the moderation stack a visitor can inspect, and it is empty.
Pricing, without the bullshit
Couple.me publishes no prices. Not on a pricing page, because there is none: /pricing, /plans and /premium all return 404. Not in 1.4 MB of code. The only pricing artefact on the entire site is a crown button in the navigation reading Premium 70% OFF, which appears 42 times across the pages we pulled and is not attached to any figure or any deadline.
| Plan | Price | Billing |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 5 messages, then the paywall | none |
| Monthly | $12.99 / month | monthly |
| Quarterly | $9.99 / month | billed quarterly |
| Yearly | $4.13 / month | billed annually, roughly $50 |
Those figures come from two independent reviews that reached the paywall, and we are flagging them as third-party rather than verified. Sources do disagree: one puts the annual plan at $71.99 a year, which is not reconcilable with $4.13 a month. Treat the table as the shape of the offer, not as a quote.
One number is first-party, because the terms of service state it: every paid tier carries "100 tokens per month that can be used to access extended features like image generation or voice notes". The permanent 70% OFF badge lines up with the annual tier's advertised discount, which means the discount is simply the price.
Now the trap, and it is written down in plain sight. The refund clause voids your request after 24 hours, and then adds that "regardless of the time elapsed before you request a refund, it will be denied if you have used more than 20 tokens". Twenty tokens is a fifth of your monthly allowance. Generate a handful of images to find out whether the product is any good and you have spent your refund. Refunds are card-only, which matters because the platform also takes cryptocurrency through NOWPayments and carries an endpoint for Telegram Stars.
What users say
Almost nothing, and that is the honest finding. There is no reachable Trustpilot profile, no breach or security incident against Couple.me or Fab AI LTD, and no substantive discussion we could locate. The first page of search results is affiliate content.
One thing worth knowing before you go looking: couple-me.com is not this product. It borrows the name and the description, and every outbound link on it goes to a single affiliate redirector, aiaff.ink, eight times over. The real site is couple.me.
The reviewers who did test it converge on the same shape: good personalisation, good memory, conversation quality described as usable rather than top-tier, and a token model that serves paying users better than casual ones.
Final verdict: who is Couple.me for?
Get it if you want a deep character builder and memory that actually persists, you intend to pay annually, and you value a platform that cannot physically accept a photograph of a real person.
Skip it if you expect to know a price before you hand over a card, you want to try image generation before committing, or you read a company's paperwork as a signal of how it will treat you.
The recommended formula is the annual plan, entered knowing that your refund window is really 20 tokens wide.
We keep coming back to that safety clause. Couple.me got the hard part right: an architecture with no upload surface, and three policies that say the right things about real people in clear language. Then it built the container around that work out of a dead brand's documents, which is how you end up with community guidelines that prohibit "pornography" and instruct users to "avoid depicting explicit sexual activity and stimulation" on a platform whose own navigation sells AI Sex Chat and an NSFW image generator. Nobody read them. The policies that matter are sound, and the fact that nobody read them is the reason this sits at 6.4 rather than comfortably higher.

// FAQ
Couple.me: quick answers
Is Couple.me free?
Barely. You get 5 messages, then the payment page appears. That is enough to see whether the writing appeals to you and nowhere near enough to test the memory that the paid tiers are sold on. Image generation and character creation are not included in the free allowance at all.
How much does Couple.me cost?
The site never tells you, which is why the crown button in its navigation says Premium 70% OFF instead of a number. Independent reviews that got past the paywall agree on three tiers: 12.99 dollars a month, 9.99 dollars a month billed quarterly, and 4.13 dollars a month billed annually, which works out to roughly 50 dollars for the year. Every tier includes unlimited messaging and 100 tokens a month, and that token figure is the one number Couple.me does publish first-party, in its own terms of service.
What are tokens for on Couple.me?
Chat is unlimited on any paid plan. Tokens are the currency for what the terms call extended features, meaning image generation and voice notes. You get 100 a month. They matter more than they look, because the refund policy is written against them: spend more than 20 and your right to a refund is gone regardless of how recently you paid.
Is Couple.me safe and legit?
The company is real. Fab AI LTD is registered at Companies House under number 15816848, incorporated on 3 July 2024 at an address in London, and its confirmation statement is currently overdue. On content it is clean: nothing can be uploaded to the platform by design, so no photograph of a real person can enter it, and three separate policies prohibit impersonating real people. On care it is weaker. The terms of service refer to a different product in the middle of a safety clause, and the public endpoint the site uses for its banned-words list returns an empty list.
