Selira AI Review
Names a Dutch company, publishes the models it runs on, bars uploads outright, then contradicts itself three times about what a credit costs.

// What we liked

- +Publishes the actual models, Mistral NeMo for chat and Wan 2.2 for video, which almost nothing else in this category does
- +Operated by a named Dutch company with a street address, a 2257 exemption statement and third-party age checks that return only a pass or fail

// What we didn't
- −Its own documents give three different prices for one image and three different versions of the free tier
- −The About page advertises zero data retention while the privacy policy says chat data is kept, and long-term memory is a paid feature
- −Every subscriber has to re-checkout on a new payment processor, and the prompt becomes impossible to close once cover lapses
// Our verdict
An unusually clean content policy and a genuinely transparent engineering stack, wrapped in commercial paperwork that cannot agree with itself about what you are paying for.
Most platforms in this category tell you nothing about how they work. Selira AI leaves its engineering notes in the page source, names the models it runs on, and states in writing that you cannot upload a photo to it. Then its own terms of service tell you an image costs two credits while its own FAQ tells you it costs one.
That gap, between unusually good engineering and unusually careless paperwork, is the whole review.
What is Selira AI?
Selira AI is an adult companion platform at selira.ai: uncensored chat with AI characters, image generation, five-second video clips, and a vertical NSFW feed you scroll like TikTok. There is a catalogue of characters in realistic and anime styles, a creation flow for your own, and persistent memory that the paid tiers extend.
The operator is named, which is rarer than it should be: Sria Digital B.V., Fladderiepvliet 3, 3545 AJ Utrecht, Netherlands, trading as Selira AI. The same team also sells Xavira AI, a business-facing API offering "drop-in AI image + video infrastructure" to other products, which explains why the generation stack feels like someone's actual product rather than a rented one.
Policy check, and this is the part that matters most here. The safety section states "No User Uploads: Users cannot upload images", adding that all visual content is generated from text prompts through a tag-based system. We verified it rather than taking it on trust, because we have been burned by that exact kind of sentence before. Across fifteen rendered pages and eight scripts, including the 909 KB live chat page and the standalone generator, there is no file input, no image accept attribute, no face swap, no nudify, no inpainting and no image-to-image fed from your files. The one place an image URL is posted to the generator is the Animate button, and it carries an image you already generated, read from the gallery container. Face consistency is handled by an identity adapter whose reference is the character's own avatar, cached against a hash of that avatar's URL. No photograph of a person enters the pipeline at any point.
The prohibitions are equally explicit: sexual content involving celebrities, deepfakes, revenge porn of real people and any depiction of real persons without consent, enforced through rule-based filtering plus automated analysis. The 2257 page claims exemption on the correct ground, that no real performers exist to keep records of.
Worth naming plainly, because the marketing invites the wrong conclusion: Selira sells a feature called "Undress NSFW Companions" and shipped a blog post titled "Introducing AI Undress Live Cam". Neither does what those words do elsewhere in this market. Both operate on the platform's own invented characters, from text, and the live cam has no performer and no stream behind it.
The features that actually matter
It tells you which models it uses. The chat runs on mistralai/mistral-nemo, named in the request body, after an earlier stint on DeepSeek. Images come out of ComfyUI on RunPod serverless, on a LUSTIFY checkpoint by default with Pony for some characters and a per-character LoRA. Video is Wan 2.2. We have reviewed platforms that would not admit which continent their servers sit on.
Unlimited free chat, genuinely. No message cap, no daily limit, and the first few messages need no account at all. The catch is images, not conversation.
The feed and the five-second clips. Any generated image can be animated into a five-second video, and the vertical feed gives you something to do that is not a conversation. Videos cost ten credits against one for an image, so video is where a plan actually gets spent.
Memory you pay for. Lite and Basic get "Basic Chat Memory", Premium and above "Long-Term Chat Memory". Hold on to that when you reach the privacy claims below.
The engineering notes left in the source are the most reassuring thing on the site: real comments about a modal that must not crop its own button on a short phone, about a date bug that "went out in a customer-facing mail before anyone noticed", about polling trade-offs. That is a team that writes things down.
Pricing, without the bullshit
| Plan | Price | Credits | Memory |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Disputed, see below | None, 3-day history |
| Lite | $7.99/mo | 75 | Basic |
| Basic | $12.99/mo | 200 | Basic |
| Premium | $19.99/mo | 500 | Long-term |
| Platinum | $39.99/mo | 1,000 | Long-term |
| Diamond | $59.00/mo | 2,000 | Long-term |
Credit packs run $7.99 for 50, $12.99 for 100, $19.99 for 250, $39.99 for 500, $59.99 for 1,000 and $99.99 for 1,500. Pack credits never expire, subscription credits reset monthly, and purchased credits are spent only once the monthly ones are gone. Crypto goes through Boomfi.
Now the problems, all first-party and all checkable.
An image costs one credit, or two. The homepage FAQ says images cost 1 credit and videos 10. Section 4.1 of the terms says image generation costs 2 credits and videos 10. The pricing cards imply 1, by quoting 200 credits as roughly 200 images. One of those halves what you get.
The Lite card overstates video by about double. It advertises roughly 75 images or 15 videos. At the platform's own rate of ten credits per video, 75 credits buys about seven. Every other card does this arithmetic correctly.
The discount anchors do not reconcile. Premium displays a struck-through $39.99 while the page markup carries an original price of $29.99. Platinum displays $133.30 against a markup value of $59.99. Every tier and every pack has carried a promotional badge throughout our checks, which is the familiar permanent sale.
The refund policy argues with itself. Section 4.6 says subscription fees are non-refundable except where law requires, granted case by case at sole discretion. Section 4.7 says requests must come within 14 days, are reviewed within 48 hours and paid in 5 to 10 business days. But the non-refundable list includes "Subscription fees for periods during which you actively used the service" and any partly used credit pack, which removes most of what the 14 days appeared to offer. EU buyers get a 14-day withdrawal right under section 11.1, subject to the standard waiver once you start using the service. Cancelling never refunds the current period.
Every existing subscriber has to re-checkout. The old card processor, Finby, is being switched off, and a card mandate does not transfer between providers, so each remaining subscriber must complete one fresh checkout on Curo at the same price. Since 21 September 2026 the prompt is dismissible while the paid term still runs, then becomes mandatory once cover has run out, with no close button, no overlay click and no escape key. Nothing there is dishonest, and companions, gallery and credits carry over, but an unclosable billing dialog is a documented part of the experience.
And the privacy claim does not survive the privacy policy. The About page advertises "Zero Data Retention" and says Selira never reads, stores or analyses your private conversations. The privacy policy says chat data is retained to maintain character memory and conversation history unless you request deletion, and usage data typically kept up to two years. Both cannot be true, and the product sells long-term memory as a paid upgrade, which settles which one is marketing. The underlying handling looks reasonable: GDPR detail, EU hosting claimed, deletion on request, and age checks delegated to Didit so Selira receives only a pass, fail or review outcome rather than your ID. The headline is simply false.
What users say
Thin, and worth saying so. There is no substantial Trustpilot presence and no thread we could find documenting billing disputes, a breach or a scam. Search results are dominated by affiliate review sites whose numbers match neither each other nor the live site: one lists an entry plan at $5.99 that does not exist today, another claims 25,000 users where Selira's own meta description claims 150,000 and a 9.5 out of 10 from an affiliate directory. We treat all of that as unverified marketing, Selira's own included. Automated trust-score services rate the domain badly, but they do that to nearly every young adult domain. One genuine caution: selira-ai.net is a lookalike, not the official site, which is selira.ai.
Final verdict: who is Selira AI for?
Get it if you want unlimited uncensored chat for nothing, you care that a platform can prove it never touches real people's photographs, and you would rather know that your chat runs on Mistral NeMo and your clips on Wan 2.2 than be told it is proprietary magic. The free chat alone is worth the account.
Skip it if you need published prices you can trust at face value, or a privacy headline that matches the privacy policy. These contradictions read as ordinary carelessness rather than a dark pattern, but carelessness about what a credit costs is still your money.
The formula we would pick is the $19.99 Premium tier, because long-term memory starts there and 500 credits is the first allowance that supports video at ten credits a clip without immediate top-ups. Treat the quoted image counts as approximate until the platform settles whether an image costs one credit or two.
7.1 out of 10. The content policy and the technical transparency are genuinely above this market, and the commercial documentation is genuinely below it.
// FAQ
Selira AI: quick answers
Is Selira AI free?
The chat genuinely is. Unlimited NSFW chat costs nothing, and you can send the first few messages without even making an account. Images are where it gets confusing. The pricing page lists the Free plan at 0 credits, the homepage FAQ says free users get 4 starter credits plus 1 more they can claim daily, and the terms of service say 4 starter plus 4 starter plus 1 daily, repeating the phrase by what looks like an uncorrected copy-paste. Free accounts also keep only 3 days of chat history and 2 custom companions.
How much does Selira AI cost?
Read off the pricing page in October 2026, with an autumn promotion running on every tier: Lite $7.99 a month for 75 credits, Basic $12.99 for 200, Premium $19.99 for 500, Platinum $39.99 for 1,000 and Diamond $59.00 for 2,000. One-off credit packs run from $7.99 for 50 credits to $99.99 for 1,500, and those never expire. Crypto is accepted through Boomfi. Note that the terms of service list Basic at $12.99 as the entry plan and do not mention Lite at all, and the homepage FAQ also says paid plans start at $12.99.
Is Selira AI safe and legit?
On content it is one of the cleaner platforms we have examined. The safety page states that users cannot upload images and that all visual content comes from text prompts, and we confirmed it: across fifteen pages and eight scripts, including the 909 KB live chat surface, there is no file input, no image accept attribute, no face swap and no nudify. Celebrity sexual content, deepfakes and revenge porn of real people are explicitly prohibited and filtered at system level. The operator is Sria Digital B.V. in Utrecht, with a postal address and a 2257 exemption statement. Automated scam-score sites rate the domain poorly, but those scores are algorithmic and routinely flag any young adult domain, and we found no documented billing scandal or breach. Be aware that selira-ai.net is not the official site.
What does Undress NSFW Companions actually do on Selira AI?
It generates a new image of the platform's own fictional character with less clothing, from text. It does not take a photo of anybody. The feature appears on every tier including free, and in the code the word undress is simply one of the phrases the chat watches for in your typed message before it offers to generate a picture. The same applies to NSFW Live Cam, which despite the name involves no real performer and no stream: it is a fast loop of generated images directed by what you type.
