SoulGen Review

Update, 11 October 2026: we no longer recommend SoulGen, and its rating has dropped from 8.2 to 4.5. A routine re-check found a feature our original review never looked at. SoulGen's Human Modeling tool asks you to upload a photo containing a clear face and generates from it, on a platform whose purpose is explicit imagery. We then read its full terms of service and privacy policy looking for the guardrail. There isn't one: across both documents there is no mention of deepfakes, non-consensual content, real people, public figures, likeness, or biometric data. No verification, no consent step, no reporting page, no takedown process. We have refused to review other tools over this exact mechanism, and the paragraphs below explain why we are holding SoulGen to the same standard.

Everything else in this review still describes a capable product. That is rather the point: the problem here is not quality.

What is SoulGen?

SoulGen (now at soulgen.ai, the old .net address redirects) is an NSFW image and video generator with three character lanes: anime, photoreal "Real", and DreamTwin, a lookalike mode that matches a reference face. It has grown a full editing suite (inpaint, outpaint, Smart Edit, Face Swap) and Soul Chat, a companion layer with voice calls and in-chat generation.

The core loop stays true to the original pitch: describe, generate, refine. The SoulGen 2.0 model cleaned up the classic AI tells, notably hands and joints, and anatomy quality is a genuine strength. A SoulGen 3.0 video model has since appeared in the credit table alongside two SoulOmni tiers.

Alongside those lanes sits a separate nav item called Human Modeling. Its page is a single form: a Reference Image slot labelled "Upload a photo containing a clear face", a prompt box, a style picker, and a Human Generate button. That is the feature this review now turns on.

The features that actually matter

Anime, the crown jewel. SoulGen's anime generations are among the best at any price, clean line work, coherent style. If your taste runs animated, the output quality was never the question here.

Long video with audio. Most consumer NSFW video maxes out at a few seconds. SoulGen goes considerably further, with audio and lip-sync options. Quality of long clips varies, because physics still does improv, but the ceiling is genuinely high for an entry-priced product.

The credit table. SoulGen publishes it openly, and in detail: 1 credit per image, 2 with "Looks Like", 3 for Human Modeling, 3 to 8 for edits, 10 to 15 credits per 5 seconds of video depending on the model, 18 to 40 on the SoulOmni tiers depending on resolution, 0.2 per chat message, 1 credit per minute of voice call. Against a 100-credit monthly allowance, read that again. One ambitious video can burn most of a month.

Human Modeling, and the thing that is missing. Upload a face, generate. Three credits an image. We are not going to pretend this feature has only innocent uses on a site like this one, and we are not going to test the guilty ones. What we did instead was look for the controls a feature like this needs, and here is the complete inventory of what SoulGen publishes: a terms of service, a privacy policy, and a return policy. No content policy. No acceptable-use policy. No complaints form. No DMCA page. No reporting route of any kind for someone who finds themselves in a generation they never agreed to.

The nearest thing to a relevant rule is a clause telling users not to upload "any private or personal information of a third party without such third party's consent". That is a data-protection boilerplate line, and it never mentions a photograph, a face or a likeness. Meanwhile SoulGen's own description of how the product works tells you to "select or upload some feature about your picture (face, quantity, etc.)". The terms describe uploading a face as the normal way to use the tool, and nothing anywhere describes whose face it may be.

For contrast, inside this same re-check: Seduced requires a government ID and a selfie holding a handwritten consent note before its face-replication feature unlocks at all, and PornX simply gives its editor no upload button, so on-platform generations are the only possible input. Both of those are answers. SoulGen has not published one.

Pricing, without the bullshit

One change to flag: as of this re-check, SoulGen's pricing page shows the credit costs and the allowances ("100 credits each month", "1200 total for the year") but no dollar figures at all to a logged-out visitor, behind a rotating "up to 42% off for first purchase" banner. The monthly and annual prices above come from earlier reporting, not from the site today, and we could not confirm them. Read the checkout screen as the only authority.

That free tier still isn't a tier, it's a locked shop window. Watermarked and blurred means you cannot evaluate the product without paying.

And 100 credits remains an images allowance, not a video one. Image-focused users will live comfortably; the moment video becomes your habit, you are either rationing or topping up. There is no unlimited plan at any price.

Exit door warning: cancellation reportedly runs through forms and email support rather than a simple button, and refunds die the moment you generate a single image.

What users say

The love: anime quality, the post-2.0 anatomy, voice calls in Soul Chat that surprised people, and the overall it-just-works simplicity. None of that is in dispute.

The gripes: the blur-walled free tier, credit velocity with video, and the cancellation path. Scattered reports of support silence exist, and no security incident is on record.

On the matter above, we found no reporting, no regulatory action and no documented case naming SoulGen. We want to be precise about that, because it cuts both ways: we are not telling you something happened. We are telling you that the mechanism is shipped, the policy page that should govern it does not exist, and we checked.

Final verdict: who is SoulGen for?

Get it if: nothing here persuades you, in which case you already know what you are buying and the anime output is as good as it ever was.

Skip it if: you would rather spend your money with a platform that has thought about this. On image generation specifically, PornX bans real-person content explicitly, publishes a prioritised removal contact, and builds its editor so that only on-platform images can be loaded into it. That is a lower-rated tool on features and a far better answer on this question.

Our position: under the exclusion policy we apply to every tool we consider, SoulGen would not have been reviewed here at all. This review predates that policy being tightened, and we are deciding whether to withdraw it rather than leave a rating of any kind attached to the tool. Until then, 4.5 is not a recommendation, it is a warning with the facts attached.
